It’s been under a month since Fabrik’s formation, and we’ve already ignited a spark on social media with regular updates and beautiful graphics from our team. However on Sunday 27th October we plan to create a BOOM with our nudity themed runway. Stylists, runway directors and many more dedicated committee members have been collaborating to bring this bold event to the University of Sussex campus.
The nudity theme compliments Fabrik’s ethos perfectly; we plan to use our voice to ‘reclaim, redefine and empower’ and the runway is going to demonstrate the tenacity with which we shall do this. Model castings took place earlier this week, in which our stylists and editors selected models with diversity in mind. The runway shall feature models with disabilities and of various ethnicities, genders and sexualities in order to demonstrate that nudity is not reserved for sample-sized white women. Concepts associated with conventional beauty such as Playboy and the BDSM community will be reclaimed within the looks in order to empower the models and hopefully the audience to embrace the magnificence of diverse nudity.
Although the theme of the runway is ‘nudity’, our models will still be wearing looks carefully crafted by our stylist team in order to create a statement or story around the theme of nudity. Along with our editors, they have headed to Snooper’s Attic and Flock in the North Laines where they were given full reign of their collection, selecting the perfect vintage garments to complement our nudity theme and the concepts which branch off it.
This event is one not to miss. Prepare to feel empowered and represented by the magnificent models and inspired by the thought provoking and aesthetically stunning looks. The Fabrik team have been working incredibly hard to create a sensational first runway to pave the way for many more outstanding runways, photoshoots, articles and events.
